Installation & Safety Guide

A power liftgate strut is under tension. Please follow these safety steps:

1. Support the Tailgate: Use a ladder or a second person to hold the tailgate fully open. NEVER rely on the remaining strut during installation.
2. Access Connectors: Carefully remove the interior trim panel near the D-pillar to access the electrical harness.
3. Disconnect Power: Unplug the factory harness to prevent short circuits.
4. Remove Hardware: Unscrew the ball-joint fasteners from the vehicle body and the tailgate frame.
5. Install New Unit: Mount the new actuator marked "L". Ensure the ball joints are fully seated and the harness is routed without kinks.
6. Calibration: After installation, manually close the tailgate for the first time. Then, use the interior button to open it fully to allow the system to recalibrate the sensor positions.
