Shock replacement is a standard DIY project for truck owners:

1. Safety: Park on a level surface and secure the rear wheels. Jack up the front of the truck and support it with jack stands.
2. Removal: Unbolt the upper stem mount and the lower eyelet mount. You may need penetrating oil for older Dodge Ram bolts.
3. Preparation: Inspect the mounting brackets for rust or damage. "Prime" the new shock by compressing and extending it manually 2-3 times.
4. Mounting: Position the new Gabriel G63661 shock. Secure the lower mount first, then the upper stem.
5. Torque: Tighten all bolts to the manufacturer’s recommended torque specifications.
6. Repeat: Always replace shocks in pairs (both front sides) to ensure balanced handling.
